Change of Venue Announced 17th Annual McDonald’sŪ “City-Suburban Showdown”
Lisle, IL --- The Integrity Group today confirmed that their nationally known event, the McDonald’s “City-Suburban Showdown”, is being moved from the UIC Pavilion, in Chicago, to Proviso West H.S., in Hillside, IL. The change of venue is due to the implementation of NCAA Bylaw 13.11.1.8, which prohibits “non-scholastic” organizations from hosting high school basketball events at Division 1 venues. The same ruling that has necessitated similar actions around the country.
The event line-up and times remains the same:
- Game 1 (4:30): Chicago-St. Rita v. Winnetka-New Trier
- Game 2 (6:30): Gurnee-Warren Township v. Maywood-Proviso East
- Game 3 (8:30): Chicago-De La Salle Institute v. Chicago-Simeon Career Academy
Fans who have already purchased tickets need to contact the school(s),
UIC Box Office, and/or TicketMaster, where those tickets were purchased, in
order to receive a full refund. Information on tickets for Proviso West H.S.
will be announced, as soon as equitable procedures can been established.
